About Bachelor of Education in English Language Education (B.Ed. in ELE)

Scientific Vision

The vision of the B.Ed. in ELE is to become an innovative study program integrating ICT and research responsive and contributing to global advancements in the fields of English language education by the year 2041.

 

Missions

  1. To provide effective and innovative student-centered instruction integrating ICT and research in the field of ELE;
  2. To promote innovative research in the field of ELE for knowledge development and community welfare;
  3. To facilitate community services in the field of ELE toward community empowerment and productivity.

 

Objectives

  1. To produce intelligent, virtuous, innovative, and independent teachers and/or instructors and other professionals in the field of ELE;
  2. To produce innovative scientific works in the field of ELE;
  3. To conduct community services in the field of ELE to promote a productive and prosperous community.

 

Graduate Profile

  1. Competent users of English for effective spoken and written communication in academic and non-academic contexts with a minimum English proficiency equal to B2 level of CEFR (ITP TOEFL score of 525/iBT TOEFL 69-70/IELTS 5.5);
  2. Competent, innovative and reflective English teachers and/or instructors for formal and non-formal institutions with the capability to develop, implement, and evaluate lessons and/or instructional programs in various contexts based on sound TPACK principles, as well as engage in educational research and reflective practice for continuous personal and professional development.

 

Intended Learning Outcomes

Pursuant to the IQF Level 6 for bachelor programs, the following, is the formulation of the intended learning outcomes (ILOs) of the Bachelor’s Degree in ELE.

  1. Demonstrating knowledge and behavior as religious, patriotic, and devoted citizens in view of Pancasila, as well as independent, innovative, adaptive, and critical attitudes in line with the global dynamics;
  2. Demonstrating values and insights as critical, innovative, adaptable, and communicative educators in the globalized era in line with theories and practice of education and instruction adapted to the framework of Indonesian culture;
  3. Using English for effective spoken and written communication in academic and non-academic contexts with a minimum English proficiency equal to B2 level of CEFR (ITP TOEFL score of 525/iBT TOEFL 69-70/IELTS 5.5);
  4. Applying basic principles of English linguistics and literature for effective spoken and written communication in academic and non-academic contexts;
  5. Developing, implementing, evaluating, and reflecting on lessons and/or instructional programs for formal and non-formal teaching and learning contexts based on sound TPACK principles;
  6. Developing instructional materials and media for formal and non formal teaching and learning contexts based on sound TPACK principles;
  7. Conducting research on ELT in formal and non formal teaching and learning contexts based on sound research principles;
  8. Applying relevant knowledge and skills in English language communication, pedagogy, research, and entrepreneurship in non-teaching professions.
